The Comfort-zone

The last couple of weeks I've been playing around with the idea of opening a webshop and building up my blog in a better way. There's been a lot of thinking, writing, changing the blog and even more thinking. What do I want with this? Why do I want this? How should I name my webshop? What makes me unique? What do I want to sell? How do I want to come across? How to expand my readers-list?
Many questions, which mostly remain unanswered for now... The thing I know that I want to sell some knittings and drawings and that the name of the shop is JCLN. It's my name without the vowels. But that's not it! There's more meaning to it. Cause the name tells about what this shop/brand is about: Joy, Creativity, Love & Nothing else. That's what I'm selling: creative things that I enjoy making and that are made with love (& nothing else).
So that's all I know until now, the rest is still in the processing. The webshop actually already exists and there's also some stuff to buy in it. In the column on the right of this post you'll find the logo of the shop, on which you can click to get there. Or just click here, that's much easier right?
As for this blog, I'd love to expand my readers-list. But... how does one do that? I had no idea actually... I've been reading some stuff about creative businesses online and I've come to known some things on how to do that. And last Friday I've come to know that I probably should step out of my comfort-zone. Up until now I've always been telling about things I've made, but not very much about the process or any other things that happen to me. And it's not really like me to just show my heart to people I don't really know, I'm quite shy about that. So I'm trying to figure out how to do that. Probably this post is a good way to start.
What about you? Did you ever step outside of that oh so warm and fuzzy comfort-zone? And what did it take for you to step outside of it and do something you're a little scared of? Please leave a comment below this post. I'd love to get to know my readers better!

Besides all these things, I've still been creative the last weeks. Here's some stuff I've made:

Both the flags and the bracelet I'll be selling in my shop.

And I've been drawing this thing, that's been on my mind for quite some time and now I finally did it. It's called 'Life's a puzzle'.

For my webshop I'm planning to make a card-set based on the background of this drawing. Would you like that?

And last week I started working on some home-decoration. It's not finished yet, but here I'll show you what I've got so far.

The left picture is from an idea-board. It's a cork-board covered with some lovely wallpaper (left-over from my parents' fabulous wall). As you can see, there's not many ideas on there. But there are ideas in my head, I just need to write them down (on nicely self-decorated papers, which is another idea to pin down actually).
On the right you see a sneakpeak from another project of mine. I started this afternoon and I'm not really sure yet how I want to do it and decorate and stuff. Keep an eye on this blog, cause I'll post pictures when I'm ready.

Thanks for stopping by and reading this (looooong) blogpost. And remember to comment on this, right below this post.

Michelle, thank you for your reaction and thanks for the compliment. It´s not that hard to make. Just buy a corkboard and give it a little colour and pin a nice paper to it. If you make one yourself, I´d love to see it!

I like the meaning to your name, very cool.

I think you should definitely put yourself out there, if that is what you want to do. It might take experimentation, but you have to take action to figure out what you want, what you like, how it can happen and how you can react and stir things up. :) Best of luck to you!
