The Best Christmas Hamper Ever!

Yes! I have a little job besides my studies, which means that around Christmas my employer gives me a little gift!
In The Netherlands it's a tradition to receive a box  filled with food and non-food stuff from your employer to thank you for the effort you've given in the past year.
The last few years people also get a coupon with which they can pick a gift of their favor online.
This year I chose a giftcard for Xenos, a shop with fun home decoration, supplies for creative outings, kitchen supplies and a food section.
I went shopping for about 2 hours and this is the result: THE best Christmas Hamper I've ever had!
If you're Dutch, I can really advise you to do the same. It's fun and you'll be sure you will have the things you really like for your Christmas hamper.

This is what's in mine:

A garland with snowflake lights, so cute!
A spool of grey polka dot ribbon.

Fun straws with patterns. I already have a bunch in my collection, but you can never have enough.
A small tray, on which I will serve tea and biscuits when I have visitors.
A vase with the text 'Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of life'.
A snowflake hanger, to add a bit more Christmas and winter feeling to my room.
A clipboard with a nice pattern of which I will clip nice texts or pictures that catch my eye.

And what is a Christmas hamper without some food stuff. There's two curry pastes and a mix for pizza and foccacia bread. Yum!
And to help me cook all of it, there's a spatula.

And besides all the ovely stuff above, there's a little casket from wood with two heart shaped holes on each side. I'll hang this on my wall to serve as shelves on which I can place some decorative stuff (so that my ferret can't reach it and break it).

I hope you enjoyed it and I didn't make you too jealous if you don't receive a Christmas hamper.

Ja! Ik heb een mini mini bijbaantje naast m'n studie en dat betekent dat je rond kerst een kerstpakket krijgt!

In Nederland is het een traditie om een kerstpakket gevuld met food en non-food dingen van je werkgever, om je te bedanken voor je inzet in het afgelopen jaar.

De laatste jaren zie je steeds meer dat mensen een bon krijgen om online zelf een cadeau uit te zoeken dat bij ze past.

Dit jaar koos ik voor een cadeaukaart van Xenos, een winkel met leuke decoratie, dingen om creatief mee te doen, keukenspullen en een food afdeling.

Ik ben lekker 2 uur gaan shoppen en dit is het resultaat: HET beste kerstpakket dat ik ooit gehad heb!

Als je de keuze hebt om een cadeaukaart te kiezen, zou ik dat zeker adviseren. Het is leuk en op die manier heb je zeker een kerstpakket met alleen maar leuke dingen.

Dit is mijn kerstpakket dit jaar:

Een snoer lichtjes in de vorm van sneeuwvlokjes, zo leuk!

En een klosje grijs lint met stipjes.

Leuke rietjes met patroontjes. Ik heb er al een aantal in mijn collectie, maar je kunt nooit genoeg leuke rietjes hebben.

Een klein dienblaadje, waarop ik thee en koekjes aan mijn visite kan serveren.

Een vaasje met de tekst 'Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of life'.

Een clipbord met een leuk patroontje waaraan ik allemaal leuke teksten en plaatjes vast ga maken.

En wat is een kerstpakket zonder eten? Er  zitten twee zakjes currypasta in en een mix voor pizza en foccacia. Lekker! En om me te helpen bij het koken zit er nog een spatel bij.

En naast alle leuke dingen hierboven, is er ook nog eens een leuk houten kistje met twee hartvormige gaten aan beide kanten. Ik ga deze aan m'n muur hangen, zodat ik 'm als plank kan gebruiken voor decoratieve dingen (dan kan m'n fretje er mooi niet bij om dingen stuk te maken).

Ik hoop dat je het leuk vond om mijn kerstpakket te zien en dat ik je niet te jaloers heb gemaakt als je er helaas geen krijgt.

Ik wens je in ieder geval een fijne kerst dit jaar!

London Shoplog

I know, I know. You're all very curious to know what I've bought in London.

So let me satisfy your curiosity.

Besides souvenirs I bought for family, this is what I've bought for myself:

Typically London
During my time there, I fell in love with the city. I love the excitement of always something to do and thousands of people to meet. The Underground takes you everywhere you want to go, but only if you 'Mind The Gap'. Oh, and I love the fact that you can leave your window open when the light is on: no mosquito's or any other kind of flying bug coming in!
Stuff bought: Cardholder for my Dutch transportpass with map of the Underground, pin 'Mind The Gap', Union Jack car keyring.

Selfridges

I think I love this warehouse the most of all. Why not Harrods? Well, Harrods doesn't have a stationery department (yet, it will open soon though).

I couldn't help myself and buy a notebook and to do list. Don't you love them?

English Tea
I think it would be cultural suicide to not drink tea when you're in Great Brittain.
I've been to Yumchaa twice, a lovely tea café where they have a lot of great flavors. I've bought two bags of loose leaf tea and a tea egg, so I can enjoy tea at it's best at home.
And I've been to the Twinings shop. Twinings is the official British tea brand and in the shop you can buy teabags for 15 pence each, I bought some lovely flavors to take home.

Hobbycraft
As a lover of creativity, I had to visit one of London's craftstores: Hobbycraft. It was quite a distance from the centre of London, but I got there. And they have everything a creative heart would ever desire: papers, beads, pencils and markers, stamps, yarn, scrapbooking materials, really everything.
I've spent some time in the shop and left with a bag of origami paper, 8 markers to use on chalkboard or glass and some lovely yarn.

Places I had to visit
These last three things are bought in places that I told myself I had to go to.
The Mollie Makes magazine was bought at Harrods, it has a little gift with it as well.
The book  comes from Foyles, one of London's biggest book stores. I bought the book 'This Is Not A Book' from Keri Smith. I've been thinking of buying one of her books for a few times already and now I bought it in a place I'll never forget.
The umbrella came from Anthropologie. I've been scrolling through their webshop before, but now I had the chance I wanted to visit a real store. The place itself just looks lovely, great decoration and a lot of lovely products. Unfortunately everything I liked was or expensive or very breakable, so I decided to go with this small piece of decoration.

I'm really happy with all the stuff I bought and can't wait to start using them!

Ik weet 't, ik weet 't. Jullie zijn allemaal enorm nieuwsgierig naar wat ik in Londen allemaal gekocht heb.

Dus laat me jullie nieuwschierigheid verzadigen.

Naast souvenirs die ik voor familie kocht, is dit wat ik voor mezelf kocht:

__ Typisch Londen. Tijdens mijn verblijf, ben ik verliefd geworden op de stad. Ik hou van de opwinding, er is altijd wat te doen en duizenden mensen om te ontmoeten. De Underground brengt je overal waar je heen wilt, maar alleen als je let op het afstapje 'Mind The Gap'. Oh, en ik vind het super dat je je raam open kunt laten met het licht aan: geen muggen of andere vliegende beestjes die binnen komen!
Gekochte spulletjes: Mapje voor m'n chipkaart met de plattegrond van de Londense metro, pinnetje 'Mind The Gap', Union Jack autootje aan sleutelhanger.

__ Selfridges. Ik denk dat ik dit warenhuis het leukste vind. Waarom niet Harrods? Nou, Harrods heeft geen stationery afdeling (nog niet, hij opent binnenkort).
Ik kon mezelf niet stoppen en kocht een notitieboek en to do list. Vind je ze niet leuk?

__ Engelse thee. Ik denk dat het een soort culturele zelfmoord is om geen thee te drinken als je in het Verenigd Koningkrijk bent.
Ik ben twee keer bij Yumchaa geweest, een erg leuk theecafé waar ze veel heerlijke smaken hebben. Ik kocht ook twee zakjes losse thee en een thee-ei, zodat ik nu thuis ook kan genieten van thee op z'n best.
En ik ben in de Twining shop geweest. Twinings is het officiele britse theemerk en in de shop kun je theezakjes los kopen voor 15 pence per stuk, ik kocht een paar heerlijk geurende zakjes.

__ Hobbycraft. Als een liefhebber van creativiteit, moest ik zeker naar één van Londens hobbywinkels: Hobbycraft. Het was een aardig eindje bij het centrum van Londen vandaan, maar ik ben er gekomen. En ze hebben alles waar een creatief hart kan wensen: papier, kralen, potloden en stiften, stempels, garen, scrapbook materialen, echt alles.
Ik heb een aardig tijdje in de winkel rondgelopen en liep uiteindelijk naar buiten met een tasje gevuld met origami papier, 8 stiften voor op schoolbord of ramen en drie bollen mooie wol.

__ Plekken waar ik heen moest. Deze laatste drie dingen zijn gekocht op plaatsen waar ik van mezelf echt heen moest.
Het Mollie Makes tijdschrift kocht ik bij Harrods, het heeft ook een klein extraatje.
Het boek komt bij Foyles vandaan, de grootste boekenwinkel inLonden. Ik kocht het boek 'This Is Not A Book' van Keri Smith. Ik heb al wel vaker zitten dubben of ik één van haar boeken zou kopen en nu heb ik er één gekocht op een plek die ik nooit meer vergeet.
Het parapluutje komt van Antrhopologie. Ik ben al eerder in hun webshop geweest, maar nu ik de kans had wilde ik ook naar een echte winkel. De winkel zelf ziet er fantastisch uit, leuk aangekleed en heel veel leuke producten. Helaas was alles wat ik leuk vond of duur of erg breekbaar, dus heb ik gekozen voor een klein decoratief dingetje.


Ik ben erg blij met alles wat ik kocht en kan niet wachten om alles te gaan gebruiken!

Shoplog

Last week I've been shopping for some stuff.
I went to find some shirts, scarfs and shoes, but as always, you come home with much more stuff. I did find the shirts and scarfs, but I didn't find shoes that I liked. I'll be shopping for those online.
Here's what I've bought.

__ Afgelopen week ben ik lekker wezen winkelen. Ik ging in eerste instantie winkelen voor wat t-shirts, sjaals en schoenen, maar zoals altijd kom je met allerlei andere dingen thuis. De shirts en sjaals zijn gelukt, de schoenen helaas nog niet. Daarvoor ga ik lekker online winkelen.
Hier is wat ik gekocht heb.__

I scored this bag in one of my favorite bag-stores in Wageningen. Unfortunately it's going to stop, but that did give me a nice discount!

__ Ik heb deze leuke tas gescoord in een van mijn favoriete tassenwinkels in Wageningen. Helaas gaat hij ermee stoppen, maar dat leverde me wel een leuke korting op!__



















I've also found those two scarfs at my favorite bag-store.
And for the two shirts, I've been to a regular clothingshop.

__ Ik heb ook deze twee sjaals gevonden bij m'n favoriete tassenwinkel.
En voor de twee t-shirts hieronder ben ik geslaagd bij M&S.

 The last two things I've bought are four summery colors of eyepencils and some metal clips, with which I'll do some DIY. You'll probably see more of that on here.

__ De laatste twee dingen die ik kocht zijn vier zomerse kleuren oogpotlood (Etos) en wat metalen clips (Hema), waar ik een leuke DIY wil gaan doen. Daar zie je waarschijnlijk nog wel wat van terug hier.
